Creating safer work spaces during COVID-19
Now that the government are looking to gradually re-open the economy, we explore here how staff could be brought back safely into the office environment during this period of new normal.

Here we demonstrate how an existing office layout can be adapted to work within the new normal. By making small changes to the layout and creating more social distancing, bringing people back into the office perhaps a few days per week whilst other staff work from home can be a way to reinvigorate your office space. We are social animals and by re-poplulating modified offices, people can feel part of a greater whole within their organisation rather than simply working off the kitchen table and using zoom to interact via the computer screen.
Longer term considerations may include installing different finishes in the office that are more resistant to viruses and that are easy to clean. These could include vertical and horizontal surfaces in common areas as well as at the workstation itself. Hygienic fabrics that resist viruses can also be used on upholstery for both common areas such as reception as well as individual personal seating for staff.
